ABOUT THE MAC11
The MAC-11, designed by Gordon B. Ingram in the 1970s, is a compact submachine gun and a scaled-down version of the MAC-10 (M10). Produced by the Military Armament Corporation (MAC), it gained popularity for its small size and rapid rate of fire. Ingram's aim was to create a lightweight, easily concealable weapon suitable for close-quarters combat. Chambered in .380 ACP (9mm Short), the MAC-11 operated on a simple blowback mechanism and was predominantly made of stamped steel parts, ensuring its compactness and lightness.
Featuring a telescoping bolt design for reduced length, a top-mounted cocking handle, and a collapsible wire stock, the MAC-11 was highly maneuverable and easy to conceal. Its notable high cyclic rate of fire, reaching up to 1,200 rounds per minute, made it effective in close combat but challenging to control.
